Kartika Airlines e-ticketing implementation
Since December 15’th 2006, Kartika Airlines has implemented electronic ticketing (e-ticketing). For the first stage, e-ticketing will be implemented at Surabaya-Balikpapan-Tarakan Route (vv). And on going stage, e-ticketing will be implemented throught all Kartika Airlines Routes either for Domestic and International. Kartika Airlines plans the used of e-ticketing for all route at the end of 2006.
e-ticketing is a way to document the passanger traveling activities without having to issue the “paper ticket” All information regarding passanger trips will be recorded electronically in the computer system and as for e-ticketing receipt, passanger will be given an “itinerary receipt”. With the passangers data recorded in the computer system. The passenger will be avoided from missing ticket, stolen ticket or left behind.
The e-ticketing will also avoid ticket misused by someone else, because before doing the e-ticketing transaction passenger have to do a reservation, where the passanger’s name should be the same as the name from passanger’s identity card ( ID card, Driving licensed or passport). The reservation process can be done through Kartika Airlines town offices or travel agents appointed by Kartika Airlines.
When doing check-in at the airport, passenger must show the itinerary receipt and identities card, so the check-in officers can match the id card with the reservation data recorded in the Kartika Airlines computer system.
